San Marcos Comets Cheer Weekend

It was a big weekend for the Comet Cheer Squad. Saturday morning they cheered on the boys who unfortunately lost to the Torrey Pines Golden Falcons. The football players were very nice to give the girls blue carnations-Alexa's first flowers from a boy(s)!
Alexa puting her flowers in a vase.
Sunday was an all-day cheer competition at Viejas (formerly Cox) Arena at SDSU. The squad has been practicing all season for this competition-many hours of practices. She did FANTASTIC!! So proud of them~and fun to see all the other teams and what they had put together.

Kindergarten Field Trip to Albertson's

Justin's kindergarten class took their first field trip of the year on Friday to the San Elijo Albertson's. It was a lot of fun for the kids-many samples of healthy treats and learning about the food pyramid. Here they have made their own turkey roll-ups.

Another Autumn in Salt Lake City

Alexa & I arrived in Salt Lake City last Friday for a nice 4 day weekend with Steph, Jeff & the boys! We had a great time-weather was great. Lots of fun with the cute twins ;)

We went shopping on Saturday, and Auntie Stephanie got Alexa an early birthday present-a Build-A-Bear! Actually, it is a rabbit-but boy does it have some cute outfits-and a cell phone...of course.

Our trip to Thanksgiving Point for some harvest activities.

Snow already on the mountains!

Justin San Elijo AYSO

Justin began playing soccer in the boys under six age group at the beginning of September. His team is called the "Thunder". Fortunately, they don't keep score, and don't have goalies for this age bracket, so it's not real competitive yet.
Justin, ready for kick-off.

Justin is in black-with the ball.

Here's the cutie taking a break.

Here's Justin (#6) kicking off and running the field.

Pop Warner Night at Mission Hills Highschool

First Day of School for 2009-2010 School Year

The kids headed back to Community Christian School yesterday. They had a nice healthy meal of hot cinnamon rolls and bacon for breakfast. They were excited to see their friends from last year and check out their new rooms.

Palm Springs-105?

Yes, we made it out to one of our favorite "hot" spots-Palm Desert, this last week! Doug said that the weather report said it was a high of 105 but only felt like 104. That's what we thought~just not THAT hot.

Our first destination was Soak City-such a hit! It was almost empty because so many schools are back in session-it was like we had the whole place to ourselves and rarely had to wait in any lines! Added plus-the clouds rolled in after lunch so although it was still very hot, there was no direct sun!!

Another one of our favorite stops is fortunately just across the street from where we stay at-it's the Palm Desert Marriott. We love to go over and see the birds and ride on the boats. Above is a view back towards the hotel from the boat.

Rainbow Birthday Cake

So this psychadelic cake is courtesy of my friend Jen. She shared this recipe with me as we were driving through Europe together. I've been so anxious to make it and thought it would be especially fun for a little home birthday cake for Justin. His actual birthday is tomorrow (big 5!). Stay tuned for Chuck E. Cheese pics!

Last Summer Camp of the season

The kids have had the opportunity to enjoy many fun summer camps this year. They had their last summer camp last week. Justin was at SeaWorld and Alexa was at the Mission Bay Aquatic Center learning sailing. She actually was sailing her own boat with just another 7 year old (the teachers were in boats next to them). On the last day she sailed solo!
